In The Middle » Devlog
In this interview we will be talking to Jason. Jason is our lead narrative writer and he along with others is responsible for the brining of our story to life. Jason was asked the 5 following Questions
- What is your role within the team
- How much has the story changed since the conception of the idea
- Is there a certain scene or moment in the story that you are particularly proud of
- Is there a certain scene or moment in the story that you are particularly proud of
- What are you most excited for the playerbase to see
Here was his answers.
- I am the lead narrative designer and writer along with being the co-production manager at 5works.
- Short answer a lot. The project has gone through at least a handful of iterations as well as its vision for what we wanted to create, so the story had to adjust accordingly. As of today the story has had 7 different versions, all of which slightly different to the previous. But the core idea has always remained the same for me when writing the story.
- There is a great scene near the end of the game which I love the most written by myself and my co-writer's Harry and Cian that really pulls at the heart strings and is very human. Once we wrote it I felt the story was coming to life. Unfortunately me telling you would spoil the game so I cant say anything more. But it is the scene that I am most proud of.
- I know this is very cliché but from a production point of view I'm proud of all of the Alpha as a whole, as the whole team put in a lot of work and I feel that it really shows.
- Of course this is biased of me but the story. We have a lot human characters and i want to see how the player base response to these characters that i have
loved to write about for so long.
